After the launch of Conclude Link in June – a solution which connects Slack and Microsoft Teams for seamless communication and collaboration – we are pleased to announce the addition of file sharing and automatic language translation.

Conclude Link now supports file sharing, including documents, images, and multiple file types across both Slack and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, users can now automatically translate conversations in up to 60 languages for improved communication between multilingual teams.

Speak differently, work seamlessly

The automatic translation feature aids the flow of communication and information between teams, and reduces language barriers. It also eliminates the need to copy and paste using external translation tools, minimizing context switching.

Users with Admin permissions can use Conclude Link to connect Microsoft Teams and Slack workspaces, or other workspaces from the same messaging platform (e.g. Slack to Slack and Teams to Teams). Admins can link selected channels and adjust language settings from the Admin Center, which is similar to the Dashboard in Conclude Workflows.

Once the channels are linked, the Admin has an option to set the languages by selecting from a drop down menu.

How can this feature help companies?

Say you’re a Microsoft Teams user who needs more visibility over a primary support channel being managed by a multilingual team that works with customers in Spanish, using Slack.

Even if members of the Microsoft Teams workspace don’t speak Spanish, they can still receive automatically translated updates via the Teams #support channel when it’s set to translate all messages to English. Note: this functionality would not include translation of support tickets that are opened in dedicated channels, branched from the primary channel.

Another simple example could be an English-speaking Engineering team working with a Korean-speaking Engineering team on either Slack or Teams. With Conclude Link, teams can easily connect workspaces and channels, so that all communication is automatically translated into English from Korean and vice versa.

More use cases for automatic translation

Here are more ways Conclude Link with automatic language translation can benefit multicultural teams and organizations:

  • VPs or Heads of Internal Communication can easily link broadcast channels for company-wide announcements, without the need to translate content in multiple languages
  • IT Help Desk Agents working with customers in different languages can also facilitate the flow of information to other departments by linking channels, including different Slack or Microsoft Teams workspaces
  • Customer Service Supervisors managing global support teams can easily manage the flow of tickets and information in different languages
  • Project Managers with teams in different countries can easily share project updates and manage key documents through linked channels
  • Sales and Marketing Leads can stay on top of campaigns or ensure the flow of information in different languages between different team members, without clogging up emails

The limitation is only set by your imagination and interpretation of what Conclude’s suite of collaboration tools can do for you.

Feedback and experience tells us that many IT Teams prefer using Slack to Microsoft Teams, usually for a variety of reasons – sometimes it’s software or app integrations, workflows, or just personal preference. However, often the rest of the organization is using Microsoft Teams. Does this sound familiar?

Having these widely-used tools disconnected can result in systemic silos. By linking messaging platforms, or different workspaces, information can flow more easily between teams and other key stakeholders.

Sometimes you need to collaborate on projects with team members on different platforms. Aside from the key features that Conclude Link offers, such as threaded messages, @mentioning your colleagues, and editing and deleting messages across both platforms, file sharing makes it even easier to collaborate.

Now, users can easily share documents, images, and other files on both Slack and Teams. Every file that is shared is protected by enterprise security, guaranteeing secure and smooth collaboration.

Future product development plans

Seamless communication and collaboration is something we are passionate about and we aim to become a key player in the future of collaboration tools.

Using a combination of Conclude Workflows on Slack, combined with Conclude Link, users can now manage issues, incidents, bugs, support tickets, and collaborate on projects across both platforms.

Looking ahead, we have plans to roll out Microsoft Teams Worfklows (for managing issues, incidents, bugs and support tickets) and are currently improving our Jira integration.

Conclude Link will also be developed to include external collaboration. This exciting addition will simplify collaboration with outside partners who prefer to use different tools or messaging platforms. Stay tuned for more updates!
